What is the National Parents\u2019 Committee for Primary and Secondary Education?<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The National Parents\u2019 Committee for Primary and Secondary Education (Norwegian abbreviation FUG) is a national committee for parents who have children in primary and\/or secondary education<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FUG was established in 1976 and is legally founded on Section 11-9 of the Norwegian Education Act.
The current FUG was appointed on December 20, 2019 for the period 2020\u20132023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FUG\u2019s secretariat consists of\u202ften employees and is based in B\u00f8 in Vestfold and Telemark.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Who is FUG?<\/h3>

FUG is appointed by the King in the Council of State for a period of four years. FUG consists of a president, a vice\u202fpresident,\u202ffive members and two deputy members. The members come from different parts of the country and have children at school.
